So the frequency of ambulatory anesthesia in the US has increased over the last 15 years. In 2006, it was estimated that 53.3 million surgeries were done in the ambulatory setting. The rate of visits to ambulatory service centers have increased significantly in the last couple of years, and COVID-19 propelled the number even higher.
