Aortic Stenosis – Procedure Preparation

share

Transcript

How to prepare for a catheterization and a mitral valve clip or a trans aortic valve replacement? These procedures are done in the hospital setting and usually patients are expected to be NPO the night before, meaning not to have breakfast and to take medications that were previously prescribed on the day of surgery. You will be taken to the cath lab and be prepped by the anesthesiologist and sedated. You will feel no pain. You will have no symptoms. The recovery time is very fast and most patients are able to be discharged the same day or the next day at the latest.
