Most forms of arthritis are chronic conditions. They are not curable, but could be managed well with medications. Arthritis presents with intermittent flares with either sudden worsening of your joint pain symptoms. If you have such flares, you will require an urgent medical attention, either in an outpatient clinic or an urgent care, or even with an emergency room visit. You may return to normal activity once your pain and disease symptoms are better controlled. During active flares, it is best to rest your body to help recover before returning to normal activities.
