Atrial Fibrillation – Medications

January 28, 2022

All of the anticoagulations currently available are approved by the FDA. Warfarin was one of the first medications that came out for anticoagulation and was really the only one in the market for many, many years. But recently the novel oral anticoagulants have come out and these medications include Eliquis, Xarelto, Pradaxa, and the newest one is Savaysa. They’re all pretty much FDA approved and they’re all very effective for preventing stroke. In terms of anticoagulation, it’s very important for you to have a conversation with your doctor to determine which anticoagulation is right for you.
