Hematuria is a medical term that means blood in the urine. This can either be microscopic blood that can only be seen under a microscopic exam of the urine, or visible blood that the patient sees in their urine. In case this is a sign of a more threatening, underlying condition, blood in the urine is almost always evaluated to make sure that nothing is wrong.
