There are no tests for marijuana hyperemesis. The diagnosis is based on clinical presentation and history. This means that your symptoms and the type of marijuana use and an absence of any other explanation can be enough to diagnose it. There are certain treatments that if they work can support the diagnosis. Also, if the symptoms resolve after abstaining from marijuana, that can also confirm the diagnosis.
