Both marijuana hyperemesis and cyclical vomiting syndrome have similar symptoms of intense nausea, vomiting, and dry heaving, as well as sharp cramping, abdominal pain without diarrhea. The main difference is the history of marijuana use. More clinical research is needed to better understand how these conditions overlap.
