Transcript

It is important to follow up with your primary doctor regularly in order to make sure that you’re on top of modifying your risk factors for CAD. This would include checking your blood pressure and making sure that your blood pressure is controlled, that your cholesterol is controlled, and that if you have diabetes, that your blood sugars are controlled as well as developing an exercise program and a diet that helps to decrease your risk of developing coronary artery disease. Your doctor should also perform EKGs (or electrocardiograms) if there’s any suspicion of coronary artery disease, which can show decreased perfusion to the heart.
