As with most traumatic injuries, prevention is always the best cure. High velocity activities, such as snowboarding, mountain biking and skateboarding are often best performed with some protection on the wrists in order to prevent fracture of the wrist during a fall. There are braces that can be obtained at sporting goods stores and at rental facilities where snowboards and mountain bikes can be rented, which can help prevent these injuries from happening in the first place.
