- Are you a Doctor?
Many of my women patients want to know if their epilepsy and the medications they’re taking to treat their epilepsy will prevent them from getting pregnant and having a healthy baby. Fortunately, my answer to these women is that the condition of epilepsy and most of the medications we use to treat it are not associated with any difficulty in conceiving or in having healthy children. However, if you hope or plan to get pregnant, you should definitely tell your epilepsy doctor because they may want to adjust your medications before you do become pregnant and throughout your pregnancy.
