The symptoms of gastroenteritis are pretty unpleasant. Watery diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, pain, and cramping in your abdomen, and occasionally fever are all symptoms you can get. And you can get either one of them, a couple of them, or a bunch of them all at the same time. There are a couple of symptoms that should cause you to seek out your doctor, or take a trip to the emergency room. If you’re getting dehydrated. And the easiest way to tell this is to look at how much you’re peeing and what color it is. If it’s a very, very dark yellow, that’s not a good sign, or if you’re not peeing at all, that’s a bad sign. Are you having stools that are black or bloody? Black means that there’s some blood in there, but it’s coming a little higher up. Bloody means it’s bright red. Are you having a really high fever? Are you going to the bathroom more than 10 times a day? Are you not able to drink water and maintain fluids? Are you getting really bad pain in your stomach or really bad pain anywhere else in your digestive tract? If you have those issues, you should run and get help.
