Heart Murmurs – Additional Testing

share

Transcript

Sometimes we may need to get additional testing if we detect a problem on the echocardiogram, we may need to study the murmur a little closer. The next few tests that would be done include a transesophageal echocardiogram, which involves taking closer pictures of the heart, endoscopically. We may do an x-ray to see if the heart’s enlarged or a cardiac catheterization in the hospital to study the pressures and the effect the murmurs are having on the heart.
