Other tests that may be needed later on once you get the results back from your initial group of tests, your doctor may feel that you may need additional testing to really figure out what’s going on to get a more accurate picture of what is your diagnosis. Some other tests that may be done includes a DNC or hysteroscopy where your physician is looking in your uterus to look for things such as polyps or fibroids. This may be done under anesthesia. A doctor may perform a DNC to take a sample or a biopsy of the uterus to check for more serious conditions such as cancer. Or lastly, you may do a test called a sonohysteroscopy, which is done in conjunction with an ultrasound to insert fluid in the uterus to get more defined picture of what is going on.
