share

Transcript

Why is this happening to me or the patients that I see in the office? There are many, several potential causes for why heavy vaginal bleeding can happen. One of those causes that patients may experience hormonal issues. This is very common in teenagers in particular, or women with such conditions such as polycystic ovarian disease or endometriosis. That is due to abnormalities in hormone levels in their body. Women can have other diseases that can cause heavy bleeding, such as liver disease, kidney disease, or thyroid disease. Certain infections or cancers can be the cause. There may be bleeding that’s caused by issues with the pregnancy or an abnormal pregnancy. It may be caused by abnormal growth of such things as fibroids or polyps. The most important thing is to get that checked out.
