share

Transcript

Many women are not sure what is normal in terms of their period and want to know when things are not normal or considered to be okay. In this case, heavy vaginal bleeding is considered to be a period that lasts more than seven days, or for example, if you need to change your tampon or your pad every two hours, you see that you’re passing clots about the size of a quarter or larger, this is a condition that can affect anyone with a vagina and is one of the more common problems that I see in the office. About one in five women will experience problems with heavy vaginal bleeding. Some teenagers in addition may also experience heavy vaginal bleeding, which may be considered to be normal, especially when they first start to have their periods.
