Treatment for hepatitis C used to be hard on people receiving it. Not only did the medications cause a lot of unpleasant side effects such as flu like symptoms, it was also not very effective. In the last few years, significant advancement has been made in the realm of hepatitis C treatment. The medications that have been developed are not only much more tolerable, but also have over 95% cure rate. The length of treatment has been shortened to an average of eight to 12 weeks. There are pills that you take daily compared to the injections you used to have to give to yourself. While the side effects of the current hepatitis C treatment are mild, they can include headache, nausea, and fatigue. These side effects are usually manageable and most people can carry on their lives without any difficulty.
