The most permanent way to remove a hydrocele is surgical treatment. Hydrocelectomy. There are other less invasive ways of treating a hydrocele. The most common is needle aspiration. It’s as simple as it sounds, you take a syringe with a needle and with some local anesthetic, insert the needle into the hydrocele and drain or aspirate the fluid out. The reason why this technique is not commonly recommended is because over a matter of weeks and months, the fluid simply reaccumulates or builds back up. So it’s not a permanent fix, but it is less invasive than surgery.
