Hypertension – Prevention

Transcript

The best way to maintain a normal blood pressure is to start with your diet and physical exercise. Reducing salt intake, for example, less than five grams per day, will reduce your risk of getting high blood pressure. Reducing trans fat in your diet, such as avoiding fried and fast foods, can also help reduce your risk of high blood pressure. Making sure you get at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day for five days a week is a great way to avoid high blood pressure as well. Improving your diet and engaging in exercise will also help you lose weight, which can help further reduce your risk of getting high blood pressure. If you incorporate exercise in your daily life and have a balanced diet that limits salt and alcohol intake, you’re on your way to success for preventing high blood pressure in the future.
