Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a condition when the objects at distance appear blurry and objects at near appear clear. And patient most often will show symptoms like squinting, sometimes headaches, and preference sitting closer to the TV because that’s the only way to see clear. So why do kids squint? Because eyeball is like a camera. And when we squint, we decrease the size of the aperture, which increases the depth and somehow helps to increase that length and put the image on the retina. It’s as effective as it can be, but that will put a lot of stress on visual system and cause eye strain, headaches, discomfort.
