Narcissistic Personality Disorder – Is It Genetic?

The question is whether there’s any genetic component. It may not necessarily be one-on-one diagnosed, if a parent has narcissistic personality disorder that means that you’ll get it. But the thing about it is that it can be environmental, in that a parent that may have had their own trauma. They may have their own experience, the way that they raise that person that eventually develops narcissistic personality disorder, there can be this intergenerational component. So I think the question of whether this is a hundred percent genetic, it does not completely fall into the realm to the way we talk about the sort of like alcoholism or schizophrenia or diabetes per se. I mean, these are more… The narcissistic personality disorder, a lot of it is a combination of environment and upbringing.
