In the United States. Surgeons use three types of bariatric surgeries. Most often first one being gastric band. Second being gastric bypass. And third is gastric sleeve. Many people who have surgery lose weight quickly, but they can regain some weight. Later on, the key is still following a proper diet and exercise recommendation to keep most of the weight off. You also need a medical follow-up for the rest of your life. After bariatric surgery, most people lose weight for up to one to two years after bariatric surgery, and then they can stop losing weight.
