Overall Priapism is an uncommon condition. However, in some specific groups, such as those with sickle cell disease, priapism is more common. The appear to be two separate age groups, priapism, commonly occurs in boys between the ages of five and 10. And in men between the ages of 20 to 50, although it certainly can occur at any age.
