share

Transcript

The prostate is the male gland located in the male pelvis in front of the rectum and below the bladder. That is why a digital rectal exam is used to examine the prostate. It is essential to the reproductive apparatus in the male. It is the area where semen mixes with sperm. The semen provides supportive nutrients for the sperm, which mixes at the time of ejaculation. So prostate cancer is a disease of the prostate, which if not treated effectively, has the ability to spread or metastasize to other areas of the body.
