Transcript

Psoriasis is a multi-system chronic inflammatory skin disease that causes silver scaly skin that might be painful, swollen or hot. Psoriasis is associated with many other conditions, including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and even Crohn’s disease. So when it comes to treatment plans, these conditions really need to be taken into consideration. Anyone can develop psoriasis. Men and women seem to have equal risk. And although it mostly occurs in adults, children can get it as well. Certain genes have been linked to psoriasis as well as you are more likely to get. If someone else in your family has it too. A systematic worldwide review found that prevalence range from 0.5 to 11.4% in adults. Interestingly, it tends to increase with increasing distance from the equator.
