Psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis occur due to immune dysregulation. It is an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the joints and the skin tissues, causing significant inflammation. Such inflammation leads to increased level of inflammatory markers. These mediators are called cytokines. Some of these cytokines includes tumor necrosis factor, also referred to as TNF, interleukin 17, interleukin 13 and 12, and many more.
