Reading Disabilities – Causes

So we don’t really know the causes of a reading disability, but we do know that the brain is not working in that three parts circuitry that research has showed us. It’s important to know that reading-disabled children and adults work very hard. It’s not a motivational problem. It doesn’t mean that they’re not trying hard. It doesn’t mean that they’re not trying to use the appropriate parts of their brain to read words, be fluent in their reading and understand what they’re reading. The brain is just not wired correctly. The great news is, and I’ll talk about this later as well, is that we can teach the brain how to read and, and fix some of that reading impairment.
