Post-stroke, people can easily get overwhelmed. How do I cope with the reduced quality of life, all the changes that happen? How can I manage care? Maybe there’s depression involved, which is very understandable, but know that you’re not alone. There are plenty of support groups out there, online forums, or in person. Nowadays, there are probably quite a few on Zoom. And not just that, but use of social workers are also available through the hospital to help you with your case. They’ll help you with the ins and outs of care management. Psychologists will also be available very often in the hospital, both for the patient and their family members, to help them cope with the feelings of being overwhelmed or grief because of loss of function.
