Stroke – Treatment Goals

There are those people who will recover completely from a stroke, but for the most, the goal of treatment is the management of symptoms. How this happens depends on how severe the stroke was and where it was affected. This means that they’ll have to live with the complications. For some people, this means never fully regaining use of their arms or legs. Some people may never regain full use of speech, but for some people, intensive rehabilitation may take a few months, but they’ll recover as much as possible. Additionally, there are some people who may need to be on a regimen of medications to help prevent another stroke from occurring. If not managed correctly, there is a high likelihood of it happening again.
