Testicular torsion happens at two main intervals in a boy or a man’s life. The first time is during puberty and the second main spike in incidence or prevalence of this condition is during puberty. Still, It’s quite a rare condition — only about one in 4,000 to one in 25,000 men will get testicular torsion. If we focus in though, and we just look at people presenting with pain in the scrotum, the numbers where testicular torsion are the cause is much higher, about one in 10.
