The four symptoms of testicular torsion are first, severe pain on the affected side, swelling, tenderness to the touch. And the last is having what’s called a horizontal lie. The testicle is sort of egg-shaped and normally it’s oblong in a vertical orientation. Sometimes when the testicle twists, it’s sitting in the scrotum sideways, that’s called a horizontal lie. Not all of these four symptoms need to be present, but they are typically associated with testicular torsion.
