In the absence of an actual external sound in the environment. Sometimes it’s described as a ringing, a buzzing, a humming or whistling, but there are actually three types of tinnitus. Tonal tinnitus, which is a constant sound, musical tinnitus, which can sound like someone singing or sound like music. There’s also a pulsatile tinnitus.
