In some people with unresolved issues from their traumatic brain injury, and usually these are people who had traumatic brain injury, delayed diagnosis and delayed treatment, but they can go on to develop other problems associated with brain degeneration or brain injury. This would be epilepsy or depression or Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease where you have kind of a movement disorder. And there are even some individuals who develop difficulties with their hormones since the hormone center is right there deep in the brain, the pituitary gland. That is one of the reasons why we as healthcare professionals who treat individuals with traumatic brain injury really advise you that if you have continued fatigue, processing problems, memory problems, vision issues, balance issues, any of those that persist, please continue to see your doctor until you get a proper diagnosis and started on a chronic path of recovery rather than a chronic path of injury.
