Uterine Cancer – Staging

Uterine cancer is surgically staged. The prognosis is dependent on the stage of the cancer at diagnosis. The staging for endometrial cancer is as follows. Stage one – the cancer is confined to the body or corpus of the uterus. Stage two – the cancer spreads to the uterine cervix, which is the lower portion. Stage three – the cancer has spread to the fallopian tubes and the ovaries or vagina or the lymph nodes. Stage four cancer has invaded the lining of the bladder or colon, or has spread to upper abdomen, groin lymph nodes, or lungs.
