At their most basic, fibroids are a kind of tumor that’s usually not cancerous. Not that you should be scared when you hear that word, because most of the time, fibroids almost always turn out to be benign. That is, non-cancerous. In this case, uterine fibroids are tumors that have grown specifically in the uterus. Generally someone with a uterus is susceptible to getting uterine fibroids and it is a condition that is extremely common. It may be not a pleasant thing to go through, especially if you have symptoms, but for some women, they may not have any symptoms at all.
