Transcript

Most forms of vasculitis are treated with long-term corticosteroids, which is known to cause multiple side effects, including weight gain, muscle weakness, bone weakness, high blood pressure, increase in blood glucose, and many others. It’s always important to try to maintain a healthy weight while being on corticosteroids. An adequate control of inflammation is very important to prevent long-term organ damage. Hence, it is very important to continue the prescribed medications by your doctors. A regular follow-up for close monitoring of your disease progression and potential side effects of the medications is very important.
