There is no cure for vasculitis, but with effective treatment, the disease can be very well controlled, leading to a good quality of life. The most important goal for treatment of vasculitis is to effectively control inflammation in the involved organ to avoid long-term organ damage. This requires long-term immune suppressing medication. Due to the potential side effects of this medication, close monitoring by your rheumatologist is essential.
