Treatment of vertigo is really dependent upon the cause of the vertigo and how much it actually impacts the quality of life. For many patients, the treatment for vertigo is therapy. So some type of physical therapy or vestibular therapy to help improve their ability to control their balance and prevent falls. Other patients, surgery becomes an option for treating the vertigo. At that point, a patient has to weigh out how much the vertigo is impacting the quality of their life. And if they’re willing to take on the risks that are associated with surgery, such as risks to hearing loss.
