Many people look for home remedies or ways to either prevent or treat or alleviate the symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection. And I would caution against trying some things that you might read about or hear about if you haven’t talked to your healthcare provider. So I’ve even heard of things like putting yogurt in your vagina or crystals or other things that may ultimately throw off the healthy balance or environment in your vagina. Some of the things you can do, however, to prevent vaginal yeast infection is to make sure that the vaginal area is as dry and as open to the air and potentially even open to the light as possible. So yeast needs it to be wet, warm, and dark. And if you can do anything in the vaginal area to make sure that it’s not wet, warm, and dark, you will be potentially preventing the onset of a vaginal yeast infection.
