Breast Cancer awareness is an everyday event in my life. I lost my mom to breast cancer three years ago and have been very vocal about the need for women to get checked regularly. In addition to self exams monthly, please meet with your primary care physician to make sure you are doing the appropriate screening for all cancers that may have affected your family or that you are at high risk for.

This is so on point! In the Emergency Department, I see many cases of cancers that could have been caught earlier than when I am seeing the patient. Please know your family history and make sure to tell your doctor so you can have access to these screening tools!
