When you decided in your surgery journey that you want to go the mastectomy route, there are a couple of options available for you. There’s total mastectomy, where it’s complete removal of the breast. You have skin sparing mastectomy is if you want to have some type of reconstruction.

And then we have nipple-sparing mastectomy. Nipple-sparing mastectomy is a procedure where we can remove the entire breast tissue and preserve the nipple. But that surgery is not for everyone. Most patients end up with a mastectomy with a total mastectomy or skin sparing mastectomy, and unfortunately, the nipple has to be removed.
