Radical hysterectomy with sentinel pelvic lymph node dissection, which is the removal of the uterus and the surrounding tissue called parametria, small portion of upper vagina and the lymph nodes from the pelvis.

Sentinel lymph nodes are an advancement in this gynecologic surgical world, where a dye is injected into the cervix and traces to the first lymph nodes that the cancer would go to if it were to spread. By just removing these one or two lymph nodes, we can significantly decrease the long-term complications that can occur from lymph node dissection.
