We used to state that individuals over the age of 75 did not necessarily require colonoscopy. We now treat patients on an individual basis, especially as patients are growing older, especially if they’ve had high risk findings in the past. But oftentimes as patients do age, we are a little bit less likely to offer colonoscopies, especially as there are some increased risks in elderly individuals, especially with thinning of tissues.

1. Individuals over the age of 75 didn’t require colonoscopy in the past but are now treated on an individual basis.
