If you’ve been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, either having a recurrence or a relapse after being treated curatively in stages one, two or three, which we discussed earlier, or you unfortunately present to your doctor with stage four metastatic incurable non-small cell lung cancer, there’s quite a few treatment options that can still hopefully keep it nice long quality of life, where you are controlling your disease.

The best case scenario for this to happen is what is called targeted actionable mutations. These are mutations that make a protein on the tumor cell that we can attack with treatment. These are very effective for the most part and much better tolerated for the most part than what we call cytotoxic or systemic chemotherapy.
