There are several warning signs that prostate cancer might be present that might cause your doctor to refer you to a urologist for further evaluation. This might include an elevation in your PSA blood test, out of the normal or expected range for your age, or when the doctor does a rectal exam to feel the contour and the texture of the back part of your prostate that touches the rectum, they may feel a hard area, a lump or a nodule.

 

If the combination of PSA and rectal examination, there’s a hallmark of PSA screening. In other cases, a sudden change in your urinary pattern, which is normally attributable just to benign growth of the prostate, could be a sign of prostate cancer, and only further investigation by a specialist can differentiate the two.
