Gallbladder Removal – After Surgery

share

Transcript

You can ask the question, “What happens to me after the gallbladder is removed? Will I not eat well, do I have to permanently change how I exercise or my diet?” And the answer is, absolutely not. The gallbladder, when it does require removal, is already a non-functioning diseased organ. And removing it is not going to generally cause any problems. Sometimes though, there could be a little bit of diarrhea because now the bile, instead of going into the gallbladder where it should be stored and some of the water from it reabsorbed, it goes directly into the intestinal tract. So sometimes that can cause a little bit of diarrhea, intestinal upset from the beginning, but then that inevitably will pass and you will feel fine.
