share

Transcript

Certainly, those at risk, there are certain patient groups, for example, patients with blood disorders. For example, patients with sickle cell disease, they’re more prone to develop what’s called pigment stones, because they break down their hemoglobin. They’re breaking down their red cells. And these particles will get deposited in the gallbladder and thus form the origin, the root of these little stones. And certainly that’s one group of patients who have blood problems of some kind. Beyond that, everybody can get gallstones.
