Dr. Swetlana Lobachova received a full scholarship to attend Harvard University, from which she graduated summa cum laude in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.  She subsequently completed a joint MD/MBA degree at Harvard Medical and Harvard Business Schools, graduating in 2011.  She completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

 

Since completion of residency, Dr. Lobachova has been steadily climbing the professional ladder. After joining a private practice group in MA, Dr. Lobachova became Department Chief at St Vincent’s hospital where she worked to stabilize the group through cultural change and recruitment, to improve patient care through introduction of various clinical and patient safety initiatives and to serve the patient community and the clinical colleagues.

 

As the regional Vice President, Dr. Lobachova managed the entire Northeast region, being responsible for multiple hospitals as well as numerous free-standing surgical and gastrointestinal centers.  She worked closely with the department leaders and staff to ensure adequate resource availability and to create a positive work environment. In this role, Dr. Lobachova also worked closely with hospital and center leadership.

 

Dr. Lobachova is currently on staff in the Department of Anesthesiology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She also joined Surgical Directions as a Senior Medical Director and works with a variety of clients on organizational redesign and transformation.

 

Throughout her career, Dr. Lobachova has seen how critical access to accurate, trustworthy and understandable health information as well as active patient engagement is to patient outcomes and satisfaction.  At each prior position, Dr. Lobachova has worked to create educational materials for patients as well as surgical colleagues in order to demystify, engage and educate.  Dr. Lobachova is thrilled to think about the possible impact Doctorpedia’s platform can have on the healthcare field.
